Rightfully called the abode of peace, Brunei Darussalam is one of very few nations in Asia which has the highest literacy rates, lowest crime rates and high standard of living.

It is situated in eastern region of Borneo and is known for its intrinsic beauty. For people who want to get a wind of something calm and peaceful in nature, this is the right place!

The Istana Nurul Iman Palace: Sultan’s way of life.

The magnificence and the grandeur of this place makes it one of the most alluring places to visit in Bandar Seri Begawan the capital of Brunei.Consisting of 1800 rooms, 257 bathrooms and a huge underground parking having capacity of 5000 cars, it is the largest royal palace in the world, approximately 3 times the Buckingham palace. This place remains open for public only for few days during Ramadan. In Bandar Seri Begawan this should definitely be one of your stopovers.

The next place in the list should definitely include the largest river village in the world “Kampung Ayer”.

Kampung Ayer: Living on the River.

Situated over the Brunei river, this place has a tourist museum and was built around 1000 years ago. To reach there the best way is to hire a water taxi.

Jame’Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque : Beautifully crafted architecture.

There are many mosques that are present in Brunei but this single mosque and its opulence makes it worth visiting “Jame’Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque” It was built in 1992 and is the largest mosque in Brunei. Its grandiosity leaves you wordless.

Ulu Temburong National Park: Getting Wild in Brunei!!

Discovering Brunei and not visiting the rainforest or sprawling canopies is a wasted effort. Ulu Temburong National Park is one the most beautiful reserves here. From hiking in Buki Patoi forest reserve, to those jungle treks on long boats in dense green forests and finally speed boat rides to Bangar. This makes it an enthralling experience.
