Trekking has emerged as one of the most loved sports by youngsters and has the exact level of thrill anybody wants in life.
So what is Trekking?
Trekking is the gain/loss of altitude by walking on a trail either to a peak or a pass. The most popular treks in the world include the Himalayan Treks and they attract quite a large population on the adventure.
Why do people love trekking?
Trekking packs the exact level of thrill and adventure mixed with conversations and landscapes that one just cannot miss going on a trek. This is why the most important question comes up that is how to prepare for a high altitude trek.
How much does it cost to trek?
The one very great thing about a trek is that it can be really affordable but at the same time really expensive. It actually depends on the trek how much is it gonna cost?
Treks to the Everest base camp cost a lot whereas treks to lower altitudes cost less.
The starting price of a trek is Rs.3650(Nag Tibba Trek) and the most expensive being Rs.50,150(The Everest Base Camp).
Why does High-Altitude required prep?
Before knowing How to prepare for a high altitude trek, one should know why does it require preparation.
Our Human bodies are meant to stay at a lower altitude than the mountains because of lack of oxygen at height.
Most people make the mistake of climbing altitudes too fast that they become prone to Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) and believe it or not, it is one terrible experience. One gets headaches, body pain and some also lose their consciousness because their body did not adapt to that altitude.
Anything above the height of 10,000ft can be considered High-Altitude and one has to be very careful about getting into it.

How to prepare for a High Altitude trek? Try Jogging.
Since trekking is an act of walking upwards gaining altitude in a slow but steady manner, a person needs to have some stamina.
Most of us that think we are healthy and we have enough stamina to climb up a mountain or gain an altitude, we are wrong.
The only way to test if you are ready for a trek or not is to jog for 25 minutes and cover 4kms in it.
If you can do this, you are ready for the climb.
Try jogging in the morning as its the best time meet fellow joggers and have some motivation.

One of the best and ancient ways of getting fit is Yoga. If you are Human, I hope you already know about Yoga and the wonders it can do. The Indian Monks do Yoga and most of them live in the Himalayas at altitudes we cant even think of. They live without any luxuries and bare-bodied in cold temperatures, that’s how fit they are.

These two are possibly the best ways to get fit for a high-altitude trek and if you ask me to pick one, I’d go for Yoga.
